Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport is thrilled to announce the signing of multiple British Touring Car Championship race winner and former Independents’ Trophy champion, Árón Taylor-Smith, as the first confirmed driver in the team’s all-new 2026 lineup.
One of the BTCC’s most experienced and respected competitors, Taylor-Smith has amassed 326 race starts since his championship debut in 2011. Across his career, Áron has stood on the overall podium 21 times, underscoring his pace, consistency, and deep knowledge of the series.
The Irish ace arrives at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport determined to build on his strongest championship result to date—seventh overall in 2024—and brings a crucial advantage with him: a full season of experience racing the Toyota Corolla in 2025, the same model that will form the foundation of the team’s 2026 campaign.
As Laser Tools Racing evolves into a two-car operation for 2026, Taylor-Smith will play a pivotal role in accelerating the programme’s development and ensuring the team hits the ground running in exciting new machinery.
