At R50, we believe being part of a community means more than just doing business in it – it means rolling up your sleeves and getting involved. Recently, we had the pleasure of volunteering with Rotary Newton Abbot, of which we’re proud members, at Newton Abbot Races, lending a hand on car parking duties for race day.
Rotary supports Newton Abbot Races throughout the season, with volunteers helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. The best part? Every penny of the volunteers’ “wages” goes directly to charitable causes, supporting fantastic work both locally and beyond. It’s a simple idea with a big impact.
Thankfully, the British weather behaved itself, and the rain stayed away – always a win! That made the day even more enjoyable, with plenty of laughs, good teamwork, and the satisfying challenge of keeping traffic flowing as smoothly as possible. While we’re not claiming perfection just yet, we’re hopeful that next time we’ll manage to get a few more cars parked in a perfectly straight line.
Days like this are a great reminder of how much good can be done when businesses and local organisations work together. Huge credit to Rotary Newton Abbot for the ongoing work they do in the community, and to Newton Abbot Races for hosting another brilliant event.
