R50-Sponsored Driver Áron Taylor-Smith Shows Front-Running Pace at Oulton Park

R50 Website Design & Marketing-sponsored driver Áron Taylor-Smith delivered one of his strongest performances of the 2026 British Touring Car Championship season at Oulton Park, showcasing the pace and potential of the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport package throughout an action-packed weekend.

From the very first session, Áron looked at home around the Cheshire circuit. His impressive qualifying performance secured pole position, underlining the competitiveness of both driver and car as the season continues to gather momentum.

The qualifying race saw Áron cross the finish line first on the road after a commanding display at the front of the field. However, a five-second time penalty unfortunately dropped him to fifth place in the final classification. Despite the setback, the performance sent a clear message to the rest of the BTCC paddock – the team has the pace to challenge at the sharp end.

Sunday’s opening race provided a deserved reward for the hard work behind the scenes. Áron produced a composed and determined drive to finish fourth overall while securing victory in the Independent category, earning a place on the podium and adding another trophy to his growing collection.

Race Two presented a different challenge, with tyre management becoming increasingly difficult as the race unfolded. Nevertheless, Áron demonstrated the experience and consistency that have made him one of the championship’s most respected drivers, bringing the car home in seventh place and adding valuable championship points.

Reflecting on the weekend, Áron said:

“This weekend has shown what we’re genuinely capable of. The car has been rapid all weekend and the team have done an incredible job. The penalty in the qualifying race was tough as we had led that race on the road. I’m so proud of everyone at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. The pace is there, the belief is there and we’ll come back even stronger.”

Unfortunately, the final race ended prematurely following a first-lap incident on cold tyres, which resulted in contact with a kerb and damage that forced retirement from the race. While disappointing, it did little to overshadow what was otherwise a highly encouraging weekend for both driver and team.

As proud sponsors of Áron Taylor-Smith, everyone at R50 Website Design & Marketing is delighted to see the continued progress being made throughout the season. The pace demonstrated at Oulton Park highlights the team’s potential, and with a seven-week summer break now providing valuable development time, there is every reason to be optimistic heading into the next round at Thruxton.

We wish Áron and the entire Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team the very best as preparations continue for the remainder of the championship.
