We’re suiting up and strapping in once again, as R50 Website Design & Marketing proudly returns to the Hilton-Ames Devon Business League – a high-octane go-karting series with a heart.
Now in our second year of competing, we couldn’t be more excited to hit the track alongside over 40 other local businesses from across Devon. But this isn’t just about speed and cornering technique – it’s all in aid of a truly fantastic cause. Last year’s league smashed expectations by raising over £100,000 for Hospiscare, and this year we’re hoping to go even bigger.
For those who haven’t heard of it, the Hilton-Ames Devon Business League is a charity-focused karting championship that runs across several months. Each race night sees local businesses battle it out at Raceworld in Exeter, bringing together professionals from all industries for some ‘friendly’ competition. And yes – we put ‘friendly’ in quote marks for a reason. Once those visors go down, things get serious. But it’s all in good fun, and more importantly, all for a good cause.
Hospiscare is a local charity that provides expert support and end-of-life care to people across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their work makes an enormous difference to individuals and families during the toughest of times, and the funds raised through the Business League directly support their services. We’re incredibly proud to be doing our part to help them continue this essential work.
For team R50, last year was an amazing experience. We got to meet loads of brilliant people, experience the thrill of the track, and push ourselves (and each other) in a completely different kind of environment. It was also a great team-building opportunity – there’s nothing like a bit of wheel-to-wheel racing to build camaraderie!
We’re back this year with our helmets polished, race suits ready, and perhaps a bit more strategy in mind (we’ve learned a few things since last year, after all). But most of all, we’re just thrilled to be involved again in what has quickly become one of the most exciting and meaningful events in the local business calendar.
So, whether we’re battling it out for pole position or spinning off in spectacular fashion (no names mentioned…), we’re in it 100% – for the fun, the friendships, and the fundraising.
